Open the test detail page (the test must be in Draft status).
Click Add Variant and give it a short name (e.g. Variant B, Long form, Green CTA).
The button shows 'Duplicating...' while the copy is created. A complete copy of the Control is made, including all steps, theme, integrations, and tracking.
Open the variant in the builder using the external link icon and make the single change you want to test.
Each variant has a traffic percentage. The Traffic Split editor shows a field per variant where you type the percentage. The total must equal exactly 100% before you can save. Click Even Split to redistribute evenly across all variants. You can also set a custom split — for example 70/30 while you are validating a risky change.
Maximum 4 variants per test (including Control). The Add Variant button disappears once you reach the limit.
The traffic split editor is disabled once the test is Running or Completed. Set your split before starting.
Variants can only be deleted in Draft status.
If you change the headline, button, and field order all in one variant and it wins, you will not know which change did the work. Isolate a single variable per test so the result is actionable.
